Hong Kong Overload

Hong Kong Overload

Hong Kong Overload is an event hosted by the Hong Kong vACC twice a year. Every August, we highlight on the Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH), and every Februrary, we highlight on the sceneric and historic Kai Tak Airport (VHHX)! During the event, we invite neighboring FIRs to light up their FIR for those who are flying in and out Hong Kong! If you are interested in experiencing a busy and full ATC service with multiple sector splits, stay tuned to our latest updates and be sure to join the event!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need a slot for this event?

Unlike before, we are removing the slot booking system so everyone can fly during this event more flexibly, even from multiple airports. However, we would kindly ask you to focus on the event airport (VHHH/VHHX) of each edition to minimize delays caused on both you and others.

Do I need to bring extra fuel?

Yes, you flight may be delayed due to traffic load, please be ready for holdings.
